Hello! Thank you for visiting my site.
If you Googled me, you probably noticed that I’ve worked in a few different areas: cooking, nonprofits and … risk management and insurance. While these paths may seem quite disparate, I wrote my way through each of them.
When I cooked, I also documented the recipes I used in professional kitchens and self-published a plant-based home-cooking guide. I also wrote curricula to teach children and adults to prepare nourishing meals with limited resources.
In my work managing a nonprofit nutrition program, I collaborated on grant proposals and crafted narratives to help funders visualize how their dollars were being spent.
I could say that I stumbled onto my path writing about risk management and insurance, but it was more intentional than that. As I looked for a space where I could tell the stories of people striving to create value and contribute to society, I found Risk & Insurance magazine. There, I got to interview business leaders working to help their organization’s manage risk better and keep their workforces safe.
It’s always been important to me to get things written down one way or another. As I once heard a Spanish-language TV host say, “¡Papelito habla!” Or roughly translated, “the paper speaks.” For anything to have a chance at holding weight in the world, it’s got to be written down.
So what story are you looking to tell? Feel free to email me or message me on LinkedIn if you’d like to discuss how we might collaborate.
